Marshall Katheder (who also writes under John Marshall) grew up in Windermere, Florida, where he was once – very briefly – employed as an alligator wrestler. He started publishing articles for local outlets while still in high school.

He graduated from Brown University in 2012 with a degree in English focused on nonfiction writing. At Brown, he served as editor-in-chief of Post- Magazine, the school’s alternative weekly, contributed satire to The Brown Noser, and covered arts & culture for The Brown Daily Herald.

While in New York City, Marshall contributed to a number of local publishers, and served as a staff writer for Thrillist and Time Out NY.

Marshall now works as a creative copywriter and content strategist at Ogilvy UK and as a freelance journalist, with a focus on arts and culture.

He lives in London.
